As I was attempting to get to my computer and start penning these thoughts that have been in the back of my mind for almost two months now, I saw this question that fits perfectly in my humble opinion….
While on vacation this past summer there was only one particular day that the ocean had lots and lots of seaweed in it; all the other days the water was crystal clear.
As I was cooling off in the water this particular day, I zeroed in on a boy doing what I considered an act of kindness.
I’ll let these photos tell some of the story for something a little different. Notice the boy with the green floatie.
As the saying goes…
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Though I can’t be sure of his motive for collecting the seaweed and dumping it on the shore, as I did not talk to him personally, I think his actions qualify as how he figured he could change the world~~
making the water seaweed free for the people to enjoy the water and not getting entangled with the seaweed.
++++++++++
What the boy did not know or see was that his random act of kindness inspired me to add a few sprigs of seaweed to his pile too. 🙂
Toward the end of me observing this boy’s action, I noticed a few others assisting in the collection of seaweed too.
Isn’t this saying below by T. Roosevelt exactly what that boy was doing?
Here was this boy, in this seaweed water, with a floatie, which made it easier to help him carry away the seaweed, doing what he could!
May I encourage you this week to simply see how you, DAILY, can emulate what that boy showed me….
How you can make the world a better place for even one person or critter…..
What one act of kindness you can do that will change someone’s world….
In whatever circumstance you find yourself, wherever you are, find what you can do!
Actively seek those ways and act on them!
Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. –1 Timothy 4:12 (NLT)
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. –James 1:22 (NIV)
