A HEARTFELT NOTE

This Mother’s Day has to be my most special one to date…yes, after 25 years of being a mother!

You ask what made it so special?

One thing is that it provided me with some thoughts to share with you this week!  Continue reading “A HEARTFELT NOTE”

I HAVE OVERCOME

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”  –John 15:18 (NIV)
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”  –John 16:33 (NASB)

What a powerful thought that I have pondered the last few weeks……

I have overcome the world. Continue reading “I HAVE OVERCOME”

THE SYMPHONY OF LIFE

Saturday was another bittersweet day; the end of another era.

It was the final Wind Symphony Concert for my undergraduate college gifted music major as she is a Senior this year and will be an official graduate in less than a month.

As I sat listening to the symphony perform this time, my thoughts were pondering how playing in a symphony can be symbolic of our relationship with the Lord!

OPPORTUNITY CLOCK

It is an interesting term that I have pondered the last week or so after hearing it while conversing over lunch with a gal that I went to high school with.  I am in awe of God bringing us together after more than a quarter century…we’ll just leave it at that!  😉 Continue reading “OPPORTUNITY CLOCK”

JESUS MEETS US

“I think the Holy Spirit has different signs for all of us.”

It was a simple sentence from a friend that resonated with me especially with hearing a sermon, two days later, that I think further expounds on the statement.  Continue reading “JESUS MEETS US”

YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND

This past week I was helping my music major college aged daughter study for a quiz. Now let me set the record straight….No, I am not a helicopter mother!

The quiz involves listening to a snippet, starting anywhere from about 10 sec – 3 minutes, of a song.
The students need to write the exact title of the song, artist, genre of music and the year it was written (within a 5 yr window.)

CARRY MY CROSS

Good Friday this year afforded me the opportunity to participate in something that I have never done before…

….A “Witness Walk.”

This Witness Walk involved the participants walking in procession behind a big, heavy, 40 lb wooden cross, carried by two people at a time, through the streets of a neighboring town, past houses and several businesses, commemorating Jesus’ Passion as He journeyed from Jerusalem to Calvary.  Continue reading “CARRY MY CROSS”

LIVE IN PEACE

“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go.  First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”  –Matthew 5:23-24  (ESV)

And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.”  –Mark 11:25  (BSB)

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.  –Romans 12:18 (NLT)

Aren’t those some pretty powerful lessons that Jesus is teaching us about how we ought to be living each day in our Christian lives?

THE PEARL

THE WORLD WAS MY OYSTER

BUT WHERE WAS THE PEARL?

Hearing these words, that echoed most for me, from the musical Annie, for the second time in three months, inspired me to share them with you this week.

Sometimes we don’t always do what we think we’re suppose to do right away, right?

I am sure somewhere along the way I had seen this musical but it has been many years.  Seeing it performed in a quaint theater in Florida back in December, it seemed like I wanted to share something about it but it never came to fruition. Continue reading “THE PEARL”

PEARLS OF WISDOM

“Everything happens for a reason.”

“You choose what bothers you.”

Yes, for me, they are pearls of wisdom quoted from my youngest son that I found worth pondering and inspiring.  Words that I needed to hear and believe in my heart and thought you might need to be reminded of as well. Continue reading “PEARLS OF WISDOM”
