CARRY MY CROSS

Good Friday this year afforded me the opportunity to participate in something that I have never done before…

….A “Witness Walk.”

This Witness Walk involved the participants walking in procession behind a big, heavy, 40 lb wooden cross, carried by two people at a time, through the streets of a neighboring town, past houses and several businesses, commemorating Jesus’ Passion as He journeyed from Jerusalem to Calvary.  Continue reading “CARRY MY CROSS”

LIVE IN PEACE

“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go.  First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”  –Matthew 5:23-24  (ESV)

And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.”  –Mark 11:25  (BSB)

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.  –Romans 12:18 (NLT)

Aren’t those some pretty powerful lessons that Jesus is teaching us about how we ought to be living each day in our Christian lives?

THE PEARL

THE WORLD WAS MY OYSTER

BUT WHERE WAS THE PEARL?

Hearing these words, that echoed most for me, from the musical Annie, for the second time in three months, inspired me to share them with you this week.

Sometimes we don’t always do what we think we’re suppose to do right away, right?

I am sure somewhere along the way I had seen this musical but it has been many years.  Seeing it performed in a quaint theater in Florida back in December, it seemed like I wanted to share something about it but it never came to fruition. Continue reading “THE PEARL”

PEARLS OF WISDOM

“Everything happens for a reason.”

“You choose what bothers you.”

Yes, for me, they are pearls of wisdom quoted from my youngest son that I found worth pondering and inspiring.  Words that I needed to hear and believe in my heart and thought you might need to be reminded of as well. Continue reading “PEARLS OF WISDOM”

GOD’S MIRACULOUS POWER

Miracles still happen today; healings still happen today too!

This week I am excited to share a current day healing with you all of a friend of mine that God brought into my life over 35 years ago.

Meet Ken and his wife, Sandy:

Ken has had his share of health issues through the years and in discussing his latest healing recently with him, it is noteworthy to say that I personally see God touching Ken’s life with three major healings or miracles. Continue reading “GOD’S MIRACULOUS POWER”

GPS SAGA

For those of you who may be long time readers of my site, you might recall that I have had a love/hate relationship with GPS’s from my post entitled GPS.

This week I come to tell you that I still stand by that relationship with the good ole fashioned GPS that you plug into your car since I do not have a good cell phone to help navigate.

This weekend my youngest son and I had another harrowing experience trusting our GPS rather than the google maps that I checked out ahead of time.

These experiences provide me with more parallels or lessons to think about which I find relatable to our walk with the Lord. Continue reading “GPS SAGA”

A TIME TO REST

One of the hardest things for me to do is take time to rest…to just rest in the loving arms of my Lord.

Do you have that battle too or not?

Doesn’t it seem like we are programmed to always be doing something trying to balance all the “necessary” activities we do in this life?

Working, going to school, taking care of family members, attending events, meetings, taking time to go to the gym, church activities and the list goes on and on.

All these things are important and part of this life on earth.  They provide us with opportunities to serve the Lord in all we do; doing all things unto Him. Continue reading “A TIME TO REST”

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

We all recall what Jesus said the two greatest commandments are, right?

Matthew 22:36-39(ESV)

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

 And he said to him,

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

This is the great and first commandment.

And a second is like it:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Continue reading “THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS”

PERFECTION

This past Sunday, I had the honor and blessing to snuggle and love on just one particular baby boy at the NICU of one of local hospitals. I am so honored and blessed to be a small part of this special ministry.

I was able to hold this little guy two different times for about a total of two hours. Whenever I am sitting there rocking one of the wee ones, I get lost in thought and prayer just gazing upon their precious face, lost in the tranquility of the moment, especially as they are sleeping so peacefully.  Continue reading “PERFECTION”

PUZZLING TIMES

Over the holidays I discovered something else that I am NOT an expert at!

You ask, “What can that possibly be?”

“Jigsaw puzzles,” I quickly reply! Continue reading “PUZZLING TIMES”
