AUTUMN LEAVES

The last few weeks in upstate New York have held the most beautiful array of colorful leaves displaying God’s glory at its finest. In fact, I have found them breath-taking, especially with the many yellow and red trees. I thought about the life cycle of the leaves throughout the four seasons and some parallels with our lives and our faith.

 

 

When we first come to know about Jesus and start that personal relationship with Him, our faith is like the budding trees in the springtime. We are like newborns in our faith journey, slowly emerging like the new buds. Continue reading “AUTUMN LEAVES”

RAINBOWS

As soon as I started driving to go to my daily walking spot, it began to downpour.  I kept going as it looked a little brighter in the direction I was headed.  When I got out of my car, it was just sprinkling a little. I grabbed my big golf umbrella and started walking.  After a few minutes, I put my umbrella up as the rain picked up.  Without warning, I found myself walking with no umbrella for shelter as the wind blew it inside out. THE DESERT EXPERIENCE

Our life on this earth can be considered a “desert” experience.  A desert experience, a wandering in the wilderness, until we reach our true home.  God has given us this desert experience to draw closer to Him, to prepare our hearts to spend eternity in the Promised Land of Heaven with Him and Jesus.  He provides just what we need, when we need it, day by day.

I was reminded of that parallel thinking of the Israelites God let wander in the desert for 40 years.  A synopsis of the story from the book of Numbers 13:1-13 is:
